A 5 km from the village of Comitini, you reach the Rock of Calathansuderj (its name of Arab origin). It is an isolated rock mass 30 meters high that looks full of caves and tombs.

The oven-like tombs and archaeological findings confirm the existence of a prehistoric village, but it was during the Byzantine period that a dense complex of rooms and tunnels on several levels was formed within, giving rise to a stronghold in control of the territory and roads that crossed it. This function was maintained during its occupation by the Arabs, the Normans and up until the thirteenth century.

On the main wall, two large rooms have been created artificially, which allow the domination of the surrounding area, now protected by a railing. The museum Antiquarium, at Palazzo Bellacera in Comitini, collects archaeological finds from the area.
