One of the characteristics of the province of Agrigento is to have an area circumscribed by the mountains to the north and south Sicans projected in the center of the Mediterranean Sea in the middle of the Sicilian Channel and the Pelagie Islands, the southernmost tip of the territory of the Italian state.

Composed of Lampedusa, Linosa and the uninhabited island of Lampione, if a strictly administrative point the Pelagie belong to the province of Agrigento, looking at a map one can become aware how these islands are closer to the North African coast than to Sicily itself. Indeed Lampedusa is 120 miles from Porto Empedocle, while only 60 miles from the Tunisian coast.

Today Lampedusa and Linosa are an essential point of reference for lovers of the sea. The crystal clear water of the Pelagie, changing colors in shades that go from green to turquoise, to blue, to dark blue, is the preferred environment for all fishing enthusiasts.

The meetings with the colorful marine life in polychrome pristine habitat of the Mediterranean seabed, beaches with golden sand, coves created in the rock over the centuries slamming waves of the sea, the wild beauty of the land, have made them famous sites so that they become places indispensable for an unforgettable holiday.

Spend a beach holiday in the Pelagie is a truly unique experience. The herbal ingredients to relax and divertissi are there: pristine nature, beautiful places, landscapes of rare beauty, hospitality, entertainment and a fabulous sea. All this are the Pelagie Islands of the most beautiful and fascinating destinations in the Mediterranean to spend their holidays at sea.
