The archaeological site of Eraclea Minoa (antique name Cattolica Eraclea) - is a site of great importance and is fascinating for its strategic location. The site of Eraclea Minoa, in fact, offers an exceptional panorama: on one side is the blue arch of the gulf, and on the other are the white rocks of Capo Bianco overlooking the sea. It is in this area that lies the Natural Riserve at the Mouth of the Platani River.

The Greek Theatre was discovered in 1957. It has an auditorium of ten levels, divided into nine sections, looking towards the sea. Built with interlocking blocks of marlstone, its structure is reminiscent of Greek theaters. The site is equipped with its own Antiquarium which houses many artefacts found during various excavations: pottery, ceramics, clay statues, tomb related objects, tools and other furniture.
