On Mount Saraceno, 1 km to the southeast of Ravanusa, interesting excavations have unearthed an indigenous center, then Hellenized.
These are the remains of a prehistoric settlement, at the end of the seventh century B.C. from Geloi, and by Agrigentini in the sixth century.
In the highest part, to the north, was the acropolis with a sacred area.
Further down, you see the signs of two villages on terraces: the first refers to the urbanization of the seventh century B.C., and the second is from the sixth century B.C.
Most of the materials found here were stored previously in the Archaeological Museum of Agrigento and are now on display at the Archaeological Museum S. Lauricella of Ravanusa, ongoing site of the Republic n. 13
