Built in 1350 by Federico Chiaramonte, the castle stands on the extreme northern part of a rocky cliff from which you can scan the width of the coast.
Over the centuries it has undergone several changes, transforming it into a prison, and during the last century the architecture has been partially destroyed by a series unnatural events.
As a point of reference and an urban development of the historical center of Siculiana, the current floorplan of the structure, in the form of "Y", is made up of several rooms once used as stables, warehouses and a small church dedicated to San Lorenzo. The remainder has other divisions with several rooms large enough that the current owners use them as reception rooms for conventions, banquets, cultural events and the like. Upon request and agreement by the owners, you can tour the facility.
